October 1st is National Black Dog Day. A day to celebrate the most often overlooked dog - the black dog. In shelters, black dogs are typically passed over. Their beautiful faces do not show up as well as light colored dogs in photographs and some people feel they hold a stigma the same as black cats. Please consider bringing home a stunning black beauty the next time you are at the shelter!
